Itinerary
DAY 1 - Beijing · First Impressions
Airport meet & greet. Depending on arrival time, begin with the Temple of Heaven inside Tiantan Park—a masterpiece of Ming architecture and UNESCO site—then stroll the lively Wangfujing Street.
DAY 2 - Beijing · Great Wall (Mutianyu) & Ming Tombs
Excursion to the Great Wall (Mutianyu) (chairlift up, toboggan down). In the afternoon, visit the Ming Tombs, entering via the Spirit Way lined with stone guardians. Return to Beijing.
DAY 3 - Beijing · Imperial Capital Classics
Walk Tiananmen Square, then tour the Forbidden City (UNESCO). Climb Jingshan (Coal Hill) for a panoramic city view. Wander hutongs around the Drum and Bell Towers. Conclude at the Summer Palace with Kunming Lake (boat ride weather-permitting).
DAY 4 - Beijing → Chengdu · Zen Quarter by Night
Early transfer for flight (e.g., CA1415; subject to change). Arrive Chengdu and settle in. At leisure around Wenshu Temple district with teahouses and snack lanes.
DAY 5 - Chengdu → Dujiangyan · Alleys & Ancient Engineering
Morning stroll through Kuanzhai Alleys. Drive to Dujiangyan to see the 2,500-year-old Dujiangyan Irrigation System, still feeding the Chengdu Plain.
DAY 6 - Dujiangyan · Panda Care Experience
Visit the Dujiangyan Panda Center; adults/teens may join supervised care and feeding activities (age rules apply).
DAY 7 - Dujiangyan → Leshan → Emeishan
Pause in Jiezi Ancient Town. Continue to the Leshan Giant Buddha (71 m, 8th c.) and nearby Wuyou Temple. Late-day transfer to Emeishan.
DAY 8 - Mount Emei (Emeishan) · Golden Summit
Ascend Mount Emei by cable car to the Golden Summit (3,099 m), one of Chinese Buddhism’s four sacred mountains; weather permitting, enjoy sweeping views to the Daxue and Gongga ranges.
DAY 9 - Emeishan → Chengdu · Temples & Tales
Visit Fuhu Temple at the mountain’s foot, then return to Chengdu for the Qingyang Temple (bronze goats) and surrounding old lanes.
DAY 10 - Chengdu → Shanghai · Bund Lights
Flight to Shanghai. Evening at leisure: stroll The Bund along the Huangpu River or dip into the tree-lined lanes of the Former French Concession.
DAY 11 - Shanghai · Parks, Temples & Skyline
Morning tai-chi vibes in Fuxing Park; visit Jade Buddha Temple. Explore the old city with Huxinting Teahouse and Yu Garden, then cross to Pudong for vertiginous views from the Shanghai Tower.
DAY 12 - Shanghai → Tongli → Suzhou · Waterways & Gardens
Glide by gondola through Tongli’s canals; visit Tuisi Garden. Continue to Suzhou for the Master of the Nets Garden (Wangshi) and artisan lanes.
DAY 13 - Suzhou → Shanghai · Homeward
Stroll Humble Administrator’s Garden (Zhuozheng Yuan) and pedestrian Pingjiang Road. Return to Shanghai for airport transfer and departure.
